Frequently asked questions

You've got questions. We've got answers.

What is the Mental Health Moments Weekly Email Subscription?

Mental Health Moments is a weekly email series designed specifically for missionaries.
Each message teaches one practical mental health principle or tool per week—helping missionaries build emotional resilience, spiritual strength, and practical coping skills throughout their missions.

The goal: to help missionaries not just survive, but thrive—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

What kinds of topics are covered?

Each week focuses on one specific, practical skill or principle, such as:

  • Managing stress and anxiety

  • Handling rejection with grace

  • Improving emotional awareness

  • Strengthening companionship communication

  • Building gratitude and compassion

  • Reframing perfectionism

  • Finding peace in daily service

Over time, these weekly emails create a powerful missionary mental health toolbox you’ll carry for life.

How does the subscription work?

When you sign up, you’ll fill out a short form sharing:

  • Your mission departure date, and

  • The email address where you’d like the messages sent.

From there, you’ll begin receiving one uplifting, Christ-centered email every week—starting around your departure date or sooner if you’d like to begin before your mission.

Where do the emails get sent?

You can choose to have the emails sent to:

  • Your missionary email address, or

  • A parent or family member’s email, who can then forward them to the missionary.

This flexibility ensures you’ll always receive your weekly message, no matter where you’re serving.

What if I’m not receiving the emails?

Sometimes our messages are accidentally filtered into spam, junk, or promotional folders.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Check your junk/spam folder regularly.

  2. Add our email address (bryson.ensign@latterdaymissionaries.com) to your contacts or safe sender list.

  3. If you’re still not receiving messages, ask a parent or family member to receive them and forward them to you. Email bryson.ensign@latterdaymissionaries.com to update your email preferences.

Note: We at Latter-Day Missionaries cannot see if your email filters block or hide our messages, so it’s your responsibility to double-check your inbox and settings regularly.

Are the emails Christ-centered and mission-appropriate?

Absolutely. Every email blends:

  • Gospel principles and scripture

  • Evidence-based mental health tools

  • Practical application ideas for missionary life

They’re written in a warm, conversational tone—like a friend cheering you on and reminding you of your divine worth and purpose.

How long are the emails?

Each message is short, easy to read, and designed for busy missionaries.
They take just a few minutes to read and include things such as:

  • A practical mental health tool or mindset shift

  • A clear takeaway or action step

  • A tie into scripture, gospel topics or quotes from Church Leaders.

Many missionaries choose to save, print, or reread their favorite messages throughout their missions.

How does this relate to The Mental Health Training Center (MHTC)?

The Mental Health Training Center is a comprehensive 12-lesson video course that provides foundational training before or during a mission.
Mental Health Moments is a weekly reinforcement tool—a steady stream of reminders and mini-lessons to keep those principles alive week after week.

💡 Bundle Option: You can sign up for both together and receive a special discounted price when you bundle Mental Health Moments with The Mental Health Training Center!

When will I start receiving the emails?

You’ll begin receiving your weekly emails shortly after signing up, based on the start date you provide.
You can choose to:

  • Begin immediately, or

  • Start around the time of your mission departure

Can family members subscribe too?

Yes! You can choose one email in which to receive the weekly message. If you would like, you could chose to have it sent directly to a parent, siblign or loved one. They can then forward the email to you as a missionary. This way, family and missionary can talk about the mental health topic in their weekly calls or emails.

Many families use them to:

  • Support their missionary with understanding and empathy

  • Learn the same mental health principles being taught

  • Send encouraging messages or insights back to their missionary

It’s a great way to stay spiritually and emotionally connected throughout the mission experience.

Can I share these emails with other missionaries?

Your subscription is for personal use only, but you’re welcome to forward a message occasionally if your companion or another missionary might benefit from a specific topic.
If they’d like to receive the full weekly series, please encourage them to subscribe directly at www.latterdaymissionaries.com so they can get every message delivered to their inbox.

How will this benefit me on my mission?

Each weekly message serves as a gentle anchor point—reminding you to pause, breathe, and realign with the Savior.
You’ll learn how to:

  • Navigate emotional ups and downs with grace

  • Strengthen your resilience through mindfulness and faith

  • Build healthier thought patterns

  • Maintain a calm, Christlike mindset through challenges

It’s a simple but powerful way to stay mentally strong and spiritually grounded throughout your mission journey.
